Do guests have to sign the waiver before they can book?

No, and that's deliberate. Blocking checkout on a waiver loses bookings, so guests book and pay first, then get their signing link by email and on the confirmation screen. Reminders chase anyone unsigned before their visit, and your team can see who's outstanding on the booking.

How do the other people in a booking sign?

Every booking has one signing link. The booker shares it with their group by text, WhatsApp or however they like, and each person opens it and signs on their own phone. The page shows how many of the party are signed so the organiser knows who still needs a nudge.

Can a parent sign for their children?

Yes. Turn on signing for children and an adult adds each child by name (and date of birth if you want it) as part of their own signature. Each child counts towards the booking's signed total, and the register shows which adult signed for which child.

Do regulars have to sign every single visit?

Only if you want them to. Each waiver has a validity setting: leave it at every booking, or set a window like 12 months. With a window set, returning guests are matched by email and automatically covered until their signature expires.

What happens to old signatures when I edit the waiver text?

Nothing. Every signature stores a snapshot of the exact text that was on screen when it was signed, along with the name, timestamp and IP address. You can rewrite the waiver as often as you like without touching what people already agreed to.

Is a typed name actually a valid signature?

Electronic signatures, including a typed name with a clear statement of agreement, are widely accepted in the UK and elsewhere, and BookingNinja records the text, name, time and IP address alongside each one. If you want the traditional feel, switch any waiver to drawn signatures instead. For advice on your specific waiver wording, ask a solicitor.
