ClassForKids Alternative

ClassForKids Runs
Registers.
You Run a Venue.

If your week is classes, terms and camps on a register, ClassForKids does that job well. If you also seat families for food, sell birthday parties and take adults and children on the same booking, the register model runs out of road. BookingNinja handles the sessions and the room, on a flat monthly price.

Why Switch

A Register Is Not a Venue

Clubs that only teach classes are well served by ClassForKids. The gap opens when you have a floor to fill, food to serve and parties to sell, and it shows up again on the invoice.

The Room, Not the Roster

A register tells you who is booked. It does not tell you which table the party is on, which seats are free at 2pm or what the cafe is doing. BookingNinja gives you a floor plan of your actual space with the bookings sitting on it.

Your Bill Stops Growing

ClassForKids quotes a transaction fee of from 2.5% including Stripe, which it describes as an estimate calculated against your revenue, with a further 0.5% on recurring payments. BookingNinja charges a flat monthly price, so a good half term does not cost you more in software.

Parties Priced Properly

Guest types let you charge one rate for children, another for adults and add extras on top, all inside a single booking. Take a deposit per guest or the full amount up front. Birthday parties stop being a per-child enrolment with a note attached.

The Family List Is Yours

Parents book on your own site, and their details land on your list. There is no shared parent directory sitting between you and the people who come to your venue, and nobody else's club is listed next to yours.

Past the Register

Draw Your Room,
Then Fill It.

Register software ends at the list of names. BookingNinja starts there and keeps going into the space itself. You draw the floor once, and after that every session, party and table booking lands on a map of your venue rather than in a spreadsheet.

Your actual floor
Lay out tables, soft play zones and party rooms as areas, then set which fills first.
Table chains for big parties
Join named tables into one larger bookable unit when a birthday needs sixteen seats.
Adults and children together
Price each guest type separately in the same booking and bolt on food or party bags.
Money up front, per session
Charge in full, take a deposit or hold a card against no-shows. Set it per session.

Parents Book Direct

One Phone,
Whole Visit.

A parent books a session on your website, with your name and colours on the page. When they arrive they can order lunch from the table without queueing at the counter. Every part of that visit runs through you.

Pick a table while booking
Parents choose where they sit from your floor plan, so the party table is settled early.
Order at table
A QR code on the table sends food and drink orders straight through to the kitchen.
Memberships and gift cards
Sell recurring memberships and gift cards from the same system that holds the bookings.
No directory in the middle
We have no marketplace of our own. Bookings run on the site and channels you already own.

When ClassForKids Is the Right Answer

We would rather lose a sale than land a club we cannot serve properly. ClassForKids is a good product with a large UK following, and there are jobs it does that we do not.

  • Your business is classes, terms and camps, taken on a register. That is what ClassForKids was built for: digital registers holding medical notes and emergency contacts, term and camp rollovers, childcare vouchers, plus Ofsted and GDPR material for club owners. BookingNinja is a venue booking system and does not try to be a register tool.
  • You want the directory bringing you families. Clubs get a free listing on the ClassForKids parent site, and for some of them that listing is a real source of new sign-ups. We have nothing equivalent, because we only put bookings on channels you already own.

The overlap sits at soft play, activity and party venues where classes are one part of the week and the rest is families eating, playing and celebrating birthdays. That is where BookingNinja usually wins. Run nothing but classes on registers and ClassForKids is probably your better bet, and we will say so on the call.

FAQ

ClassForKids Alternative Questions, Answered

Is BookingNinja a good alternative to ClassForKids?
It hangs on what your week looks like. ClassForKids was built for kids' classes, terms and camps taken on a register, and it is well suited to that. BookingNinja is aimed at venues where sessions are only part of it: soft play, activity centres and party venues that also seat families, serve food and take adults and children on the same booking. If that describes you, it is worth a look.
How does the cost compare?
ClassForKids charges a monthly subscription plus a transaction fee it states as from 2.5% including Stripe, described as an estimate with the final figure worked out against your revenue, and a further 0.5% on recurring payments. BookingNinja charges a flat monthly price with no fee per booking, plus standard Stripe card processing and a small platform fee of around 1%. At low volumes a percentage can come out cheaper; the flat model pulls ahead as you get busier. Run both against your own numbers before you decide.
Can BookingNinja handle birthday parties and mixed adult and child groups?
Yes, and this is one of the clearer differences. Guest types let you set an adult rate, a child rate and any extras inside one booking, and take a deposit or full payment per guest. Table chains join tables together so a party of twenty is one booking on real seats rather than twenty separate enrolments.
Does BookingNinja cover tables and food for a soft play or activity venue?
Yes. You get a floor plan of your venue, live table status while a session is running, automatic table assignment with manual override, walk-ins, waiting lists and QR ordering from the table. None of this exists in a classes-only system, which is usually the reason venues come to us.
Can I take memberships and recurring payments?
Yes. BookingNinja handles memberships with recurring billing, member pricing and booking perks, alongside deposits, prepayments and gift cards. ClassForKids has solid recurring subscriptions as well, so this one is a level playing field rather than a reason to switch.
Is there a free plan?
There is. Free Forever costs nothing a month, has every feature turned on, and covers up to 50 bookings a month that do not involve a payment. Past 50, bookings have to carry a payment, and the customer pays a booking fee at checkout of 2% or 50p, whichever is the larger.
Who sets it all up?
We do. BookingNinja is built and run from the UK by a small founder-led team, and we configure your venue for you in roughly a day rather than handing you a blank account and a help centre. When something needs sorting later, you are talking to the people who wrote the software.
