You Asked, We Built It: Floor Plans Are Here

The most requested feature in our last customer survey is live. Draw your venue once in the new Floor Plan Editor, then run every service from a live map: colour-coded tables, a timeline you can scrub through the day, and the option to let guests pick their own table when they book online.

When we ran our last customer survey, one answer came up more than any other: "I want to see my bookings on a floor plan." Not a list, not a grid, the actual room. It was the most requested feature by some distance.

So we built it. And we didn't stop at a map with dots on it.

Draw your venue, once

The new Floor Plan Editor lives under Venue Layout → Floor Plan Editor. Drag your tables into position, draw your walls, add doorways, and lay a floor texture: herringbone parquet for the dining room, stone pavers for the terrace, whatever matches your space.

Then furnish it. There are over sixty decorations to place, from the practical (bar, kitchen, host stand, POS counter) to the personal (fireplace, piano, fire pit, planter boxes, even a ball pit if you run soft play). Pick a chair style, tweak table colours, and in ten minutes the plan on screen looks like the room you stand in every day.

Everything snaps to a grid, there's full undo, and your changes save automatically as you work. If two people edit at once, we make sure nobody silently overwrites anyone's work.

Run service from the map

The new Floor Plan view sits right next to your bookings list, under Bookings → Floor Plan. It shows today's service on your actual layout, updating live:

  • Seated tables show the party name and how long they have left.
  • Due soon tables are highlighted so the host knows who's about to walk in.
  • Booked later tables carry a small time chip, so you can see at a glance that the window table is free now but has a 7pm on it.

Click any table and the booking opens. Hover a booking in the sidebar and its table lights up on the map. The sidebar itself groups everything into Seated, Up next and Finished, and the header keeps a running count of covers, tables in use and your average turn time.

You can add a booking or log a walk-in without leaving the screen, and the search box filters the sidebar while the map keeps showing the whole day.

Scrub through your day

The timeline across the top is one of our favourite parts. Drag it and the whole room updates to show that moment: rewind to see how lunch flowed, or jump ahead to check what 7:30pm looks like before the rush actually arrives. One click on Live snaps you back to right now, and the view keeps itself up to date from there.

Every floor, one screen

Got a terrace, a mezzanine, a private dining room? Each area gets its own plan, with thumbnail previews on the right showing how busy each one is. Click a thumbnail to jump straight there.

Nothing slips through

If a table exists in your booking setup but hasn't been placed on the map yet, the floor plan tells you rather than quietly hiding its bookings. One click takes you into the editor to finish the job.

Let guests pick their own table

Here's the part your customers will notice. The same floor plan you design for yourself can be shown to guests when they book online. Turn on "guest can select table" for a session and the booking flow gains a Choose Your Table step: guests see your actual room, tap the table they fancy, and confirm.

Availability is checked properly on our side, so a guest can only pick a table that genuinely fits their party at that time. If they'd rather not use the map, a simple list view is one tap away.

Window seat regulars, couples who always want the quiet corner, groups aiming for the big booth: they book it themselves, and your team sees the choice instantly on the same map.

Getting started

You'll need your areas and tables set up first (Venue Layout → Areas & Tables). From there:

  1. Open Venue Layout → Floor Plan Editor and lay out each area.
  2. Head to Bookings → Floor Plan to run your next service from the map.
  3. Optionally, enable guest table selection on any session to switch it on for online bookings.

Floor plans are live in your account today. This one came straight from your survey answers, so keep them coming: tell us what you'd like to see next.
