Our classic Gantt view has been in use for many years; and is reliant on a third party service that is greatly increasing it’s costs (from XXX to high XXXX; something we’d have to pass on to you - so with that in mind we’ve been working behind the scenes to completely replace the Gantt view with one built from the ground up to deal with a lot of the more common requests and issues people have.
Try The New Gantt ViewWe’re aiming to replace the current Gantt view on the 6th of December so please ensure you try out the new Gantt view before then, and any concerns, questions or bugs please let us know! We’re releasing this new Gantt view slightly before we’d normally do to allow you and your team to get used to it before it goes live.
New Features:
You can now search on the Gantt View. The search will search across all bookings in your store; and when you click a search result it will take you directly to that booking (and date the booking is on). This will massively speed up finding bookings to edit when your main focus is using the Gantt view
We’ve cleaned up the visuals of the Gantt so that things don’t get compacted so quickly. We’ve done this while also increasing the amount of bookings and tables that can be seen without scrolling. To make it even easier to manage your venue and understand your bookings you can also click the collapse button at the top which will remove any tables not currently being used on that day.
The zoom has been made to make a lot more sense. You can now press CTRL + Z to zoom in and out as you require; rather than on forced steps.
Undo and Redo has been expanded. You can now undo changes such as time changes, table changes etc up to 100 steps; so if you make a mistake it’s easy to correct it. You can use keyboard shortcuts for these actions, or the undo button on touch devices
The booking actions has been brought into a context menu. Clicking a booking brings up the content menu so you can make changes such as marking it as no show, or directly jumping into editing. We looked at all the data and making changes other than next state (such as marking as arrived) was a large part of what people did on the Gantt view, and this removes on extra step. (If you double click/tap a booking it will bring up the booking information card without having to use the context menu)
Chained bookings now are much more visually clean and clear. When moving a chained bookings time, it moves all chained items also ensuring it’s clear when and where a booking can fit.
There is many other small quality of life improvements, and extra features / hot keys that we’ll be documenting closer towards the time, but in the mean time we’d love your feedback.
Let us know now so we can make adjustments ahead of time. Alas due to the renewal upcoming for the previous Gantt software we used we have to move quite quickly here.
