New Features for May

Hi Everyone, Dan here! We’ve been working on a few improvements over the past few weeks and we’re happy to announce two big, new changes

New Booking Layout:
We’ve upgraded the booking page design to be more responsive to mobile designs, faster loading and – in our humble opinion – better looking! We’ve made this change based on customer feedback to our own venues and have seen an reduction in mid-process booking cancellations

Cleaner & Faster Loading new UI

The new design also allows you to reinforce your brand further with the ability to set a custom background image for the booking form. Our board game cafe has a strong pink identity which we could never really reflect with the old booking page design, so that’s been updated! Matching this up with your website colours can create a lass jarring background.

We’ve also added the ability to add your social media links to the booking page. This can be done by going to your venues ‘basic settings’ and then typing in the URLs for your venues.


Non-restaurant bookings
You can now use booking ninja outside of restaurant bookings! This means if you’re a hairdresser, cleaner or any other service industry, you can now use Booking Ninja. 

Once you set your venue type in the basic settings section you’ll get new options including the ability to set a geographic radius in which you can travel for bookings. For example if you’re a cleaning company you might want to set that you will travel 5 miles from your office – so just put the max radius and where to calculate from and that’s all sorted.

And of course all the restaurant specific stuff is removed for these types of businesses.
You also have the option of collecting the address of your customer when making a booking making the entire process simpler from start to finish.

While this system should work for many different types of business we appreciate every business is different. If you have a business that could benefit from an online ordering form that we can’t quite provide yet, please do let us know on Twitter and we’ll look into adding it – free of charge!

Other changes
We’ve added the number of previous visits made to the booking display list. This is important data for any restaurant as it allows you to better serve your customers – a welcome back is always more friendly.

We’ve added the ability to set a fixed number of simultaneous bookings for both restaurant and non-restaurant businesses, which is helpful if your business is just you and you can’t take multiple bookings!
